SCHOOL HEALTH OUTREACH PROJECT RESOURCES

The School Health Outreach Project (SHOP) utilizes school-based healthcare providers to advance care for pediatric lupus patients through educational sessions in public schools. Recognizing the unique role of school-based healthcare providers, these integral members of the healthcare team are trained by a pediatric rheumatology professional on lupus signs and symptoms, how to support families and students living with lupus, and how to support the pediatric to adult transition of care. Materials developed by the ACR and collaborating organizations include an educational presentation, a Lupus Care Plan, and a Lupus Pediatric to Adult Transition Plan.
