Faith-based organizations can participate in unique pre-launch opportunity!

The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) invites health and wellness leaders in faith-based organizations with 20 or more female African American members, ages 18-25 to participate in our faith-based lupus education evaluation project.

ACR received federal funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to implement a national lupus awareness campaign, including a local campaign called the Playbook Project. The Playbook Project includes a guidebook of detailed activities that localized organizations can use to conduct lupus awareness activities in their communities.

We seek faith-based organizations with female African American members, family and friends between the ages of 18 to 25 to implement the Playbook Project in their communities. If you are eligible and agree to participate in the two-part project, your organization will complete the following activities and receive up to $1,000 dollars in compensation.*

  • Part One – recruit women who meet program guidelines to view an online education video and answer questions about the video. Upon successfully recruiting at least 12-15 participants to view an online education video and submit completed pre and posttest surveys, your organization will receive a $500 incentive check.**
  • Part Two – host a hands-on event. Your organization will receive an additional $500 incentive check for effectively planning and implementing a hands-on lupus awareness event, and collecting event satisfaction surveys from at least 25 event attendees. **

*Both Part One and Part Two of this project must be completed in order to receive the $1,000 dollars in compensation.

**Participant personal information will be kept confidential.

If you are interested in participating, please complete this online interest form by 5:00 PM ET on April 5, 2019. If you have any questions, contact: Stacey Boyd at sboyd@rheumatology.org or 404.633.3777 ext. 804.
